i really need some help now. i have cleaned and replaced all the parts but the red light keeps coming on. i have checked all the connections and there is no dampness anywhere to cause a short but something is not right. it will run inconsistantley in a bucket but as soon as i think i have everything fixed and return it to the tank - the red light again. when i run it on pulse mode in a bucket it will run for one or 2 cycles and then mr red light come back.
i am at a complete loss and my tank is missing its nice "gyre" flow. HELP!!!!

Please do the following:

Remove the cages and the propellers from the motor block until you are left with only the motor block and the exposed shaft. Then go ahead and power up the pump and see if the shaft spins. The motor should run for about 10 seconds and then shut off as the controller detects the lack of water drag from the motor running without propellers. This is normal.

Does the motor run?
Does the shaft spin?
Is the pump completely dead?
Are the controller lights on?
Is the LED light on the power supply on?

the problem arises when putting the spinning shafts back on and then running the motor. it seizes up in 5-10 seconds and then the right light comes on.
what do i try next?

Here is a short article that explains why the shaft runs but the propellers don't.
